What made you pursue a career in healthcare marketing?
To be honest, I fell into healthcare on accident after undergrad, and I’m so glad that I did. During my time with Epic, I became really passionate about value-based care and population health. I feel really privileged to have the opportunity to work in an industry where we can help improve people’s lives every day and help solve one of our society’s biggest problems.
How have you benefited from being a member of the Healthcare Club Executive Board?
Serving as the VP of Student Engagement during a fully virtual school year has pushed me to take initiative and think creatively to create new opportunities for our club to connect and build professional relationships. This year, specifically, has provided a unique opportunity on how to be an effective leader during times of great uncertainty.
Do you have any advice for incoming and current students?
We have amazing faculty and staff at Kenan-Flagler, but you can also learn so much from your peers. Look out for people that personify the type of leader that you want to be and take note of how they do it.
What is your favorite hobby?
I picked up long distance running a few years ago! It gives me space and an opportunity to de-stress, which has been crucial during school and especially during COVID. I’m planning to run my 3rd marathon in April of 2021!
